Our current vacancies are as follows:
Receptionist (2)
  • To start as soon as possible
  • 37 hours weekly term time only plus 2 INSET days
  • 8.00am - 4pm Monday to Thursday   Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm
  • NJC Level 3 starting point 5 Actual Salary £20,689 (FTE £24,540)

Due to internal movement, we are looking to recruit two receptionists to start as soon as possible.   The ideal candidates will have either customer service or reception experience.  You will be the 'front face' of our school and welcoming our visitors and students in a calm and friendly manner.    Experience of using SIMS is desirable, but training is available.  Please see the job description for further details. 

Careers & Business Engagement Lead
  • To start as soon as possible
  • 37 hours weekly term time only plus 2 INSET days plus 2 set days in August to assist students on GCSE and A Level results days
  • Hours 8.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Thursday   Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm
  • NJC Level 6 Point 24 Actual starting salary £29,018 (FTE £34,064)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Career and Business Engagement Leader to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the school's careers education initiatives, fostering meaningful relationships, and preparing our students for successful transitions into further education and the professional world.

As part of this role you will be required to develop and implement a statutory and enriched Careers Education, Information, and Guidance (CEIAG) program, ensuring compliance with Gatsby Benchmarks and the Baker Clause within the Personal Development Curriculum. You will be expected to collaborate with colleagues to support the delivery of careers education for all year groups, promoting cross-curricular learning and student leadership opportunities.

Exam Invigilators
  • We are looking to employ reliable invigilators to assist with public and mock examinations at various times of the year (normally November/December/April/May and June). 
  • You will be required to start at either 8am or 12pm, depending on the timetable and you will be required to be flexible.  
  • Experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
  • This is a casual role and the current rate of pay is £12.50 per hour.

Minibus Driver 
  • Required as soon as possible
  • Term time only (38 weeks) 
  • Hours of work 7.00am – 11.00am Monday to Friday
  • £15.00 an hour

We are looking for the ideal candidate to operate our school minibus before school to collect a number of students on a specified route, to ensure that they arrive to school on time each morning. This is part of our strategy to support families and getting their children to school as having great attendance at school supports their learning and outcomes. 

You will be responsible for making sure the minibuses are clean and in good condition.

If you think you are suitable for this role, you must be over 21 years of age, have a clean licence and have held a Category B Licence for over 2 years.

Data Manager
  • Required as soon as possible
  • Term time only plus INSETS/Twilights + 2 set weeks in August (41 weeks)
  • Hours of work 8.00 – 3.30 Monday to Friday
  • Level 7 Points 30-35 (starting point 30) Actual Salary £33,435 (FTE £39,263)

The Westgate School are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and reliable candidate to join our team.  Prior experience of working within a school environment is desirable, along with knowledge of relevant software packages ie: 4Matrix, Alps etc.  Experience of data management is an essential requirement for this role.

Part of your responsibilities will be monitoring assessment data and reporting to the relevant members of staff as appropriate.  You will also be required to work with the Exams Officer during the summer to process and analyse examination results.

You must be highly organised and proficient in IT, especially Excel and able to meet deadlines efficiently.

If you have experience in handling large amounts of data and have the skills required to analyse and supply results to a variety of stakeholders, then you could be the person we are looking for.  Please read the job description and person specification for further information.


Caretaker
  • Required to start as soon as possible
  • Full time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks
  • 25 days annual leave per annum rising to 29 days after 2 years service
  • Actual Salary Level 4 Point 8 £25,742
  • Hours of work:   Tuesday to Saturday  9.00am – 5.00pm  Finish at 4.30pm on a Friday (this is negotiable for the right candidate)

We have an opportunity for an energetic and motivated Caretaker to join our existing team to ensure that our school provides a safe and welcoming environment for our students, staff and visitors.

The ideal candidate will be proud of our site and committed to ensure that our school premises are well maintained.  Ideally you will already have acquired good practical DIY skills and can work independently and as part of a team.

The appointed person must also be prepared to be on ‘call out’ duties after working hours as and when required.  You may be required to be flexible with your working day.

 Cover Supervisor  - immediate vacancy                                
  • 7:30am to 3:30pm daily Monday to Thursday    7:30am to 3.00pm Friday (37 hours weekly)
  • Term time only plus INSET days/Twilights (39 weeks)
  • Level 4 (starting point 8) Actual salary £22,043 per annum FTE £25,742

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic colleague to complement the teaching staff and to cover occasional short term absences within the school. With the guidance of teachers, the successful applicant will supervise classes in carrying out the work they have been set and assist and motivate students in their learning.

You should ideally be educated to at least A Level, with a high level of literacy and numeracy skills. You need to be an excellent communicator, have sound organisational skills and be able to work confidently using your own initiative. While previous experience is not essential, the ability to motivate young people would be advantageous. The ideal candidate would have experience of working with young people either in a voluntary or employed capacity.

Prior knowledge of SIMS is advantageous but not essential.
