Business volunteers from the Finance business sector engaged with over 500 students.
Finance runs through all walks of life but students tend to consider a Finance careers as Accountancy or Banking.
Last week students were lucky to be able to engage with a wide range of business volunteers from a variety of job roles, all of which had Maths and finance running through their daily tasks. Students in years 10,11,12 and 13 learned about their own financial personalities, are they a saver, investor or spender? The presentation on where Maths is key to certain jobs, including sports, and gaming was very interesting, it showed how we all use our numeracy skills daily without noticing.
The visitors from O2, Nat West, Thrive365 and BUPA spoke about their career journeys and their qualifications and about their working lives, and students asked a wide range of questions which of course included "how are you planning to survive post Brexit"? the answer as always was "we don't know!"
This powerful opportunity was delivered by Learning to Work and funded as part of the WOOP (World of Opportunities) programme. We would like to thank all involved for time an efforts on our students' behalf.
