Did you know? 

The Internet has made a bigger impact than any other innovation in the digital era. There were an estimated 58 billion Internet users globally in 2017. 2 billion websites on the Internet. It is difficult to gauge the rea size of the Internet, but the four biggest IT companies (Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Facebook) alone store at least 1.2 million terabytes of data.

Is this course equivalent to a GCSE? 

Yes it is. 

Who is this course suitable for? 

This course is suitable for anyone who enjoys working independently as you will have to do a lot of research, it is also suitable for those who enjoy using a computer in all their work. 

What will I learn? 

You will learn how to use software applications more effectively, you will learn how to manage a project and you will learn how to do detailed analysis of large data files. 

How will I be graded? 

The following will be awarded: Distinction*, Distinction, Merit and Pass 

How many units of study are there? 

There are 3 components in total that you will have to complete 

Is there any coursework? 

2 of the components are coursework 

How many exams will there be? 

There will be one exam. 

When will I take the exam? 

You will sit the exam in February of Year 11.  This means you can get one exam out of the way leaving with more time to concentrate on the rest in summer when you have the rest of your exams. 

Will I have to pass the exam to qualify? 

Yes you will.  In fact, you will have to pass all 3 components to be successful on this course.
