Guidance on using OneDrive

The Westgate School - Remote Access Learning

Step 1: Go to Google Chrome or Explorer and access the school website - https://www.westgate.slough.sch.uk
Step 2: Click on the envelope image ‘School Email'
Step 3: Type in your school email and password (the same as you would do in school). Your email should open up as normal. Your email is your initial and surname with 20 in front e.g. 20TJones@westgate.slough.sch.uk and then type in your logon password.
Step 4: To access OneDrive manually you will see nine dots in the top left-hand corner. A list of possible Apps will appear - click on the OneDrive.
Step 5: You will then see choices on the left-hand part of the screen, the two key ones are:
Step 6: Sharing from a teacher via email Subject teachers will invite you to view their OneDrive resources with you via email. In the email, click ‘Open’ - it is the only way you can access the subject’s OneDrive area
Step 7: The page will open with your name down the left side and the following headings:
You will automatically be in the ‘Files’ page with all of the appropriate resources that your subject teachers have already shared with you via email and you have opened.
Step 8: Make sure you are using the web browser (Chrome/Explorer) For access to MS Teams
OneDrive App You can also access OneDrive on your smart phones (iPhone and Android) by downloading the OneDrive App and using your login details to sign in
Step 9: On the left-hand side there is a list of options - Click on Teams
You will see all the teams that your teachers have set up this is another way to access work and learning resources. Click on the Team your teacher has set up for you e.g. Year 7 IT.
Forgot your Password? If you have forgotten your password, send an email to one of your teachers who will contact the IT Team or use the fingerprint remote reset pad in the corridors. You will then receive a temporary password from your teacher.
