'Every student has dreams, hopes and ambitions, we believe in every student and unlock their potential'
As part of the transition process, we have a community of Transition Champions who have been through a rigorous process to become a Transition Champion, including completing an application form and having an interview, all while in Year 7. They play an integral part in the transition process for our new students each year. We have high aspirations for our students and from Year 7 start to #equipthemforlife.
Throughout your child's journey within The Westgate School they will have many opportunities to help prepare them for life beyond school, including peer mentoring other students, coaching within different subjects.
At the age of 5 I started performing arts where I have taken part in many shows. At the Westgate school my favourite subject is Music and I have been given the opportunity to sing solos in the school concerts. Westgate has allowed me to continue my passions of performing Arts, where I perfrom both within school and outside of school and have performed in the Westend show 'Secret Garden', Saffron, Year 9
I have been fortunate to have been part of a community of students where we worked together as a team and prepared interview questions for people who were considering teaching as a career. My most memorable moment was working with the student panel which consisted of students from different year groups and we interviewed potential Deputy Headteachers. This was is was an intense day which involved a full day of interviews and providing feedback to Senior members of the leadership team and the Headteacher. This is a memorable opportunity which has allowed me to experience the working world, Elyas Year 11.
My name is Litho and I am in Year 12 and studying Biology, Chemistry and History. I chose these subjects because I enjoy them. I would like to study Biosciences at University and I belive these subjects will give me the best chance to achieve my aspirations. I stayed at Westgate for Year 12 because I personally find it better to continue studying at a place you have spent 5 years. I feel the Year 6s should come to Westgate because the teachers help you reach your true potential, where they will go above and beyond, Litho Year 12.
