MRS INDERJIT DHILLON
"My daughter joined The Westgate School in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic. Having moved to Slough from Swindon I have watched her grow and flourish at The Westgate School.
I have worked in the corporate environment on various project roles over the last 20 years which has made me a highly organised and experienced project manager with excellent administrative skills. My main focus has been on HR roles, developing me into an analytical person who looks at process improvements and questions why things are done in a certain way – what benefit does that bring to the customer, whether that be internal or external.
Outside of work I also volunteer at Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara (temple). My volunteer role here sees me on the school management team where we manage a Sunday school for over 500 children, teaching the Punjabi language, Sikh History and classical music. My responsibility is the administrative and governance involved at the school.
In addition to this role, I am also one of the dedicated buyers at the Gurdwara. Working with companies to negotiate the best price on goods and services required at the Gurdwara.
Both my work and voluntary roles have seen me work in complex situations and I have mentored people around me to achieve the best results for the team. I believe calmness leads to clarity during testing situations, which is imperative to a positive environment. With this experience I feel I would be an excellent parent governor, who would support The Westgate School."
