The Westgate School is seeking a confident, proactive, self-motivated ICT Support Technician to join our team. Being a team player is essential and your role will be to assist the ICT Manager in providing excellent support to The Westgate School, troubleshooting, and resolving ICT issues raised on the Helpdesk for students and staff and undertaking maintenance tasks on the school’s network and equipment.
You will be assigned individual and team projects to work on. Many of them will require you to undertake independent research, careful planning, and consultation with your manager before implementing your solutions.
You will learn and work with our server and network infrastructure including a mix of windows 2016/2019 servers, HP aruba network switches, Palo Alto firewall, cabling, wireless access points et al. You will configure computers for staff and students via SCCM and carry out other duties as and when required.
The successful candidate will have a desire to learn and understand technologies. The Westgate School is committed to personal development. You will be expected to expand your knowledge by gaining qualifications and undertaking further training.
The ideal candidate will hold some ICT certifications, for example;
CompTIA A+, S+, N+, L+, CCNA, MCSA, MTA or others
Knowledge of the following technologies will be desirable:
- Windows server 2019/2022
- Network and PC troubleshooting
- PowerShell
- Active Directory
- Group Policy
- Microsoft Office365
£12.50 per hour
We are currently looking for invigilators to assist with mock and public exams, during the months of November, December, April, May and June. This is a casual position (zero hours) and hours of work are varied depending on the timetable, however, you will be required to be flexible. Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be carried out. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic colleague to complement the teaching staff and to cover occasional short term absences within the school. With the guidance of teachers, the successful applicant will supervise classes in carrying out the work they have been set and assist and motivate students in their learning.
You should ideally be educated to at least A Level, with a high level of literacy and numeracy skills. You need to be an excellent communicator, have sound organisational skills and be able to work confidently using your own initiative. While previous experience is not essential, the ability to motivate young people would be advantageous. The ideal candidate would have experience of working with young people either in a voluntary or employed capacity.
Prior knowledge of SIMS is advantageous but not essential.
