896 Steps for GOSH

Our Chemistry teacher Miss Ciesielska took on an incredible challenge on Saturday 28 March 2026, climbing 36 floors and 896 steps up London’s iconic Walkie Talkie building to help raise funds for the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

The challenge was undertaken to support the vital work being done to improve outcomes for children with cancer. While research and treatments have significantly improved survival rates, cancer still remains the biggest killer of children aged 1 to 14 in the UK.

Funds raised will contribute towards creating a new, state-of-the-art centre at GOSH - a place designed not only for breakthrough treatments, but also as a supportive environment for children, including spaces such as a school, playground and garden.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters, a total of £285 was raised for this important cause.

A huge well done to Miss Ciesielska for completing the climb in 11 minutes and 28 seconds!
