Fieldwork in action

Our A-Level Geography students recently visited Medmerry on the South East coast as part of their preparation for the NEA fieldwork element of the course, which is worth 20% of their final grade.

Travelling by school minibus, students spent the day working around the beach area, collecting data to help assess the effectiveness of beach management at Medmerry. This formed part of their wider fieldwork programme, with four days in total designed to support students with their individual project titles.

Despite the weather doing its best to challenge us, with the rain proving especially difficult at times, the students showed exceptional spirit, resilience and perseverance throughout the day. They approached the fieldwork with real focus and enthusiasm, gathering valuable data and developing the practical skills needed for their independent investigations.

Well done to all students involved for making the most of a challenging but highly rewarding day on the coast!
