From Island Man to Westgate Boy/Girl

Our Year 8 students spent their English lesson exploring 'Island Man' by Grace Nichols, a powerful poem that captures the dislocation between two worlds.

After carefully dissecting its imagery, structure, and tone, students took on the challenge of creating their own versions: Westgate Boy or Westgate Girl.
