Westgate Knights Compete at Slough Chess Championship

On Wednesday, 3 July, our lovely librarian ladies Ms Mulligan and Mrs Mansbridge accompanied six of The Westgate School's top chess players to St. Joseph's Catholic High School to take part in the Slough Schools Chess Championship 2024. Our players were very excited and completed a few practice games before the tournament began. Over the course of two hours, our students versed players from four other local schools. Our team played well and showed great sportsmanship and maturity.

In the end, our players achieved third place - well done everyone!
