Year 12 Business students attended a careers event at O2.
Year 12 Business students spent two days at a careers event hosted by O2. They learnt about the various careers on offer through seminars hosted by a range of O2 staff who spoke about their career paths to date. For example, Pete, who first trained as a farm tractor engineer and now works in marketing. He gave an inspirational speech about his career and spoke about how the concept of a job for life is outdated and that as technology and people’s needs change so will jobs in the future.
“The trip to O2 was very inspirational and helpful. It helped us understand the importance of studying and getting the grades we need for the future in order to get the jobs we want. As well as that it helped to develop our communication skills by talking to various different people” Anisha Bains – Year 12
“The speed networking activity encouraged me to develop my intellectual skills, and understand the different roles within one field of work whilst meeting inspiring people with different experiences in their job roles. I now feel more confident to aim for achieving my goals” Layla Kabar – Year 12
"The Careers By Design two-day trip to O2 was very beneficial to our students as it allowed them to explore the company’s working environment. Our students had the opportunity to meet and communicate with highly experienced employees acting as helpers and guiding the students on the various career paths available to them. The two days were good fun and educational for both students and staff." Miss Ahmed - Business Studies teacher.
