As a part of Science week 130 Year 9 students had the opportunity to attend The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair NEC Birmingham, the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) for young people in the UK.
The Big Bang Fair showcased the exciting and rewarding opportunities out there for them with the right experience and qualifications, by bringing classroom learning to life.
The students took part in the many hands-on activities, as well as seeing shows and hearing from inspiring engineers and scientists from some of the UK’s biggest companies and to find out about the opportunities available in STEM.
“The trip was really interesting I managed to interact with lots of different organisations including Universities. This has now given me a wider understanding of STEM and were it can lead” Esha, Yr9 Student.
“The best part of the Big Bang Trip was the Cinema Stations. We had the opportunity to see and speak to individuals who had invented stuff and how they worked. There were so many stations to visit” Bethany, Yr9 Student.
