6th Form Boys Celebrate International Men's Day

Work Ready Seminar for the Boys!

To mark International Men's Day 2019, we were joined by three local organisations to deliver a superb seminar for the Sixth Form boys. The session covered a range of careers related topics including overcoming barriers and recognising the need to build a network of contacts to get that dream job. The boys enjoyed the special treatment,  and they were pleased to hear the 'journeys' of Peter and Maggie and the team from MAPIS, a social enterprise  that supports men into work and through counselling on interviews and CV's, and providing the essential attire for making a good impression. They also heard from Claire Giacobbe from Osborne,  Slough's property services provider through Slough Borough Council. The event was driven by Anita Herbert from ADL Connexions, a company that supports businesses to engage with the community and enrich their Corporate Social Responsibility. "In order to be ready to face the working world, our students always appreciate the time and efforts of visitors with a strong message to help them" said Karen Green, Careers Leader. Thank you to all involved, heres looking forward to International Women's Day next March!
