Latest updates from a sunny trip to France - click here for pictures
Today we had a fantastic visit to the pen pal school. When students arrived they went to lessons with their pen pals. We had students in PE, Science, Maths, English and Geography. Everyone had such a fantastic time and some of our students even lead activities in lesson time. The students experienced a Spanish themed lunch of paella! It was delicious! We all then went into town for a quiz where we had to find hidden clues from all around the town. Students and staff had great fun! On returning to the hotel we went to the beach for a paddle and to watch the awesome sunset.
Tomorrow we are on our way home... not forgetting a trip to the chocolate factory on the way. See you tomorrow!
Today we had gorgeous weather and have definitely enjoyed sunning ourselves. We started the morning with a visit to the Bayeux tapestry. The students learned so much and enjoyed the visit. They then explored the town of Bayeux. Many managed to order lunch (and ice cream!) in French and ate the French cuisine in the gorgeous sunshine. We then headed to Arromanches where we visited the 360 cinema and the students impressed our guide with their historical knowledge. We enjoyed ice cream and candy floss on the beach in the sun. A few even went for a paddle! We are currently washing off sand and getting ready for dinner and a dance off at the disco. Students continue to be an absolute credit to the school and we are regularly thanked at the attractions for bringing such happy and enthusiastic students. Tomorrow is the big event - visiting our pen pals at school. The students are really excited. Until tomorrow!
We set off early to head to the hypermarket to buy sandwich fillers for lunch. Students left the hypermarket with arms full of brie, jambon, salami. We then headed to a boulangerie where we made bread. Students learnt so much about bread making and learnt some new French words. Everyone enjoyed their homemade bread for lunch. A great success!
We then went to visit ferme Billy which is a cider farm. We explored the orchards and the pressing machines and then tasted the award winning apple juice and caramel. The apple juice was so popular we have a few bottles of apple juice coming home with us!
After, we went to the Peace Museum where the students were left stunned by the stories, news accounts and videos they saw.
We have had a fab day and we have returned to the hotel for three courses of lovely French homemade food and a disco!
