🎓Alumni Spotlight: From Westgate to Oxford, A Success Story🌟

We are bursting with pride as we share the incredible success story of our alumna, Grace Ashley, who got in contact with us to share the great news of her recently graduating from St. Hilda's College, Oxford!

Grace's journey at The Westgate School began with outstanding achievements in her GCSEs, where she made history by earning the first-ever Grade 9 in GCSE History. In 6th Form, she continued to shine, studying A-Level History, English Literature, and Psychology, all while taking on the role of Deputy Head Girl.

Setting her sights on Oxford University after attending an Open Day in 2019, Grace pursued her dream with unwavering determination. She navigated the rigorous application process, showcased her brilliance in interviews, and secured a place at St Hilda's College to study History.

March 2020 brought an abrupt end to Grace's time at Westgate due to the lockdown, but she didn't let that deter her. She triumphantly achieved three A*s in her A-Levels and embarked on her Oxford adventure.

At University, Grace embraced new challenges, delving into sports like rowing and archery. Her passion for historical study flourished, drawing on the solid foundation laid during her time at Westgate. From Tudor history to the French Revolution and the latter half of the 20th century, Grace's knowledge became a guiding light in her academic pursuits.

Returning to Westgate, Grace generously shared her experiences with 6th Form students, offering insights into University applications, including the intricacies of applying to Oxford, and providing guidance on crafting compelling personal statements.

Grace holds a deep appreciation for the support she received from Westgate's dedicated staff throughout her educational journey. She remains a proud Westgate alumna, ready and willing to support current students whenever called upon.

Join us in congratulating Grace on her outstanding achievements! Your success is an inspiration to us all, and we are incredibly proud to have played a part in your journey.
